Breaking: Tear Gas Used to Disperse Demonstration in Kasserine
According to multiple eyewitnesses and demonstrators, nearly 400 people went out in the streets to condemn the mistake of the Constituent Assembly member though his mistake was unintentional.
The demonstration started peacefully and turned violent upon an attempt by the military to repress the movement. The police avoided intervention in order to avoid tension with the population.
The demonstrators cut off the main road and burned tires in the streets. The military intervened to dispersing the crowd with tear gas while shooting in the air.
Kassrine suffered the largest number of casualties during the Tunisian Revolution.
